For one of my friend's 22nd birthday. Almonds were added on later by other friend who happened to have almonds for 'playlunch' that day.

Have the lost the recipe. It was a nice cake though. To increase decadence factor, could've done a caramel sauce and pour it over the base of apple, which would later becoming the top of the cake when flipped to serve and drizzle and ooze down.
